Black friday

Since who knows when, when the sales start in November in the US, people tend to fight. I find this amusing, though it seems it's a pretty serious business... I have seen news of people actually fist-fighting to get a piece of clothing...

Not to brag, but I believe that in Europe that doesn't happen to such an extent (if you set aside old ladies searching for adventure and excitement = elbowing everybody to find the perfect item they will never wear because they are too fat for it, but thus achieving to annoy thin folk who wanted it)

And I'm guessing this is what every shop in the US looked like at 8am, or whenever the shops open... hehehe amusing :)

Truth is I love the sales myself, and I am really excited about them... but there's still more than a month left, and anyhow, I doubt I'll get up at 7.30 just to go shopping, I love clothes, but I sure like sleeping a big deal. =)

However, I do hope to see one of these someday... that is, from a distance of course... I'd hate to see myself in the middle of something like this :)

Bueno, para ser sincera, me aburro bastante ahora mismo... y como no estoy muy inspirada ahora mismo como para hacer un conjunto nuevo en Polyvore (una página genial, ya que la menciono) pues me ha dado por subir las fotos de algunos que ya tengo hechos... en su mayoría son de lo que llevaba puesto ese dia (bueno, parecido e inspirado en... jejeje ya me gustaría a mi ir vestida con esta ropa)

Esto de arriba es algo que debería tener para mi examen de interpretación en diciembre...

Well, it seems that my plan to sew my own T-shirt is kaputt... hehehe at least it's postponed till further notice...

T-Shirt Project

Hello there, I'm not sure whether somebody reads this or not, but well...

The other day I had this daft idea, after being fifteen minutes in a shop and not finding a t-shirt nice enough to catch my eye... so I've decided I'm going to design and sew my own T-shirt. I already have tons of ideas about how it would look like, and from all those I already did a sketch, we'll see how it turns out. Before I upload a picture of a decent drawing I'll try and describe it. It would have two main parts, the top part, which would end just under the breast, and the bottom part, which would be aprox. two handspans and pleated inwardly (I don't know if any of this is understandable, my sewing jargon is awful, so I don't know whether I'm being accurate or just plain silly). Then the sleeves would be asymmetrical, one of them long, the other short. I have this fantasy of it being with this sort of kilt fabric (rather unlikely to find it in Spain though hehehe)

This is going to sound rather geekish, but I've spent the two last hours looking up patterns and ways of sewing in the sleeves, etc etc. It's all rather complicated for my simple intellect, but since I am the impersonation of the term "headstrong", I will spend as much time and energy I can spare in this project.

I'll post here any new stuff I come up with, wish me luck, it's going to take me ages to do this...

Ps: sorry I abandoned my Swiss guide posts, but I couldn't find anything really interesting to say, not that there aren't LOADS of interesting things to say about Swiss towns, but I was just lazy and lacking imagination :(

Grüezi Maintenant! Since I've been living in Switzerland this year, and I really like this

country, I've decided to post an entry about all the cantons I've visited so far, and those I'll visit in the future.

I'm going to start with the canton I live in: Kanton ZUERICH

This over here is the flag/shield of Zuerich, it's on all the cars' number plates, Rathaus, hung from balconies, etc etc. Every canton has one, and so does every town in each canton. There are loads of wee flags all over the place.

About the language, here they speak a dialect of German called Züritüütsch. It's supposed to be the easiest to understand of all the Swiss German dialects. To be perfectly honest, I've only studied German for two years now, but after living here seven months I still don't get half of what the people say.

The town I live in is called Winterthur (a lovely place really). It's a little bit up north from the actual Zürich (ten minutes by train)

number plates though) These flags are called Stadtwappen

by the way.

This town is not very big, but in my opinion it's a very nice place to live in. Everything is 15-20 minutes away, and the closest Migros is about five minutes from where I live. (Migros and Coop are very important aroud here)

The most "interesting" street here would be the Marktgasse, which has all the nice shops and so. If what you are looking for a bank, the best street to go to is the Stadthausstrasse (parallel to Marktgasse)

Actually, I don't really now what to write here... I could go on for hours writing about Switzerland and all the nice stuff that's going on around here, but I wouldn't really know where to start. I'll just add some more pictures (of Zürich city though) and I'll think more about it when I post the next canton.
