HOW DO WE DEAL WITH ALL THAT ANNOYING PEOPLE?

Tomorrow, I've got to endure something that only convicted and prooved-guilty criminals should endure, something that could try the patience of ANY saint up in Heaven. That "Thing", also, is something quite common in our society given the fact that everybody has some kind of study worthy of a nice, swollen chest (no matter how insignificant the degree), and that there is no licence required to be a parent (driving a car? yes, bringing a human being to life? naah).

What I'm referring to is a nice combination of two vexing and unsufferable character aspects that can very easily converge in the same person; maternity pride, and self-importance. Unluckily, for me, tomorrow I'll have to spend 3 hours in the company of a person with such virtues. Who cares about her son's likes and dislikes? I do not bore her with the details of my father's sleeping customs or the effect lentils have on my brother's metabolism...

When a woman decides to have a child, becomes pregnant, and finally gives birth to her baby, she doesn't necessarily do it to brag about it. I confess, I sometimes wonder, if boasting about how long and painful your pregnancy has been, is actually an equivalent of men's banter about their engines, the speed of their bikes and so on... that would mean we women cannot complain about daddies and boyfriends any more. I have witnessed too many of this kind of conversation... when your mother, your aunts and your grandmother get together and then one of them gets started on big bellies and babies I know it's time to get lost... not that I wans't having the time of my life already. I've observed that this kind of exchange is possible in nearly any situation in our daily lives. But I did not want to digress so much from the main subject, that is, annoying people. Particularly, I meant, proud parents who are self-important. The fact that they are so egotistical only makes their parenting pride worse; because they think we all care about it. In my next post i'll see if I can give you a few tips on how to deal with them.
For now, I won't write any more, because I have calmed down... but this is not over, that's for sure :D

To be continued...
